Elizabeth Fideria : My next video will be made inside the wrecks of AIdabra in the Seychelles

Seventeen years ago, the Seychelles became her second home. Ever since then, Elizabeth Fideria, the one in charge at the five star PADI dive centre "Big Blue Divers" passionately lives her love for diving.

What does SUBIOS mean for you?

SUBIOS is an excellent tool to sensibilise the general public about the underwater world and not only divers or fish enthusiasts. We should all be able to keep the sea alive in doing necessary steps to protect those species of fish we not only want to find on our plates, but also underwater during our diving excursions.

How do you judge the level of the participants?

Year after year, the stake is put really high. I am impressed by the works presented.

What impresses you most about the Seychellois waters?

This is without a doubt the number and abundance of fish. Our dives for the centre often take place just off the beach. And there already are many exciting things to see; on the island of Mahé and also on Praslin or La Digue. This is just great.

What makes diving in the Seychelles unique?

Without the shadow of a doubt, its underwater world with granite rocks, corals, sponges and not only coral, but also granite reefs. There is a lot to see between those rocks; literally myriad lifeforms dwell there

What will your next underwater film be about?

At the moment I am not filming. I do a lot of photos though. However, I am seriously thinking of getting involved in filming a video again and my next one will be about Aldabra Island. The Seychelles Tourism Office has sunk some wrecks there last year and they have alraady brought forth a rich Marine life. Thus one may find an abundance of fish. Young fish, to be more precise.
